Question- Poetry Relies on symbolism to create cultural tension, to what extent do you agree with the above statement

To a significant extent, poetry through the use of language conventions has the potential to create cultural tension between a poet, their experiences as an immigrant and the reader. As depicted in the poems “New Accents” by Oyuang Yu and “Translucent Jade” by Maureen Ten, the Asian-Australian poets use symbolism and techniques such as malapropism and metaphors to highlight their struggles to conformity and accentuates how other individuals may look down upon foreign individuals simply because of their inability to conform. This idea will be further assessed in the following paragraphs.
